Interpersonal Podcast, The Sacred Feminine, Grief Tending
The greens are beginning to show their faces through the soil; here we are in March! I hope you have the loveliest Spring.
Welcome to the third edition of my newsletter.
This month, I share a podcast conversation I recently recorded and published on love and childhood trauma with my companion Jeremy Berger.
Years ago, I had a mystical experience with the Divine Sophia. Shortly after, I was directed toward the work of Anne Baring, a Sacred Feminine pioneer. I have included a link to her work. She has many captivating YouTube videos and books exploring the Goddess, Patriarchy, and Jung’s work.
Grief has swept its way through the doors of my house as of late. I feel heartbreak and loss for the state of the world, our fractured society, and the ancestral waters of sorrow I carry in my bones. I imagine you, too, have much deep-bellied grief. Therefore, I share some resources on sorrow and heartbreak.
Lastly, I will share a poem to inspire your soul.
The Interpersonal Podcast
In the first episode of this podcast series, I read aloud “A Ritual to Reach to Each Other,” by William Stafford to Jeremy. We talk about why genuine relationships matter to our personal and cultural evolution.
Interpersonal is a podcast about relationships, therapy, childhood trauma, soulful living, love, spirituality, and more.

The Divine Feminine
“What is being born in the collapse and dissolution of the old mythologies — the old belief systems which have divided instead of united humanity — is the recognition that we do not live in a dead, meaningless universe but within a Sacred Cosmic Order.” —- Anne Baring
The Divine Feminine is also known as the soul, or the pattern that connects us all in a web of beauty and life within the Earth and all of the Cosmos. In Ancient Crete, during the Neolithic era, in Goddess worshiping culture, our interconnectedness was an instinctual given of the human psyche. Unfortunately, with thousands of years of Patriarchy, men and women have been severed from this feeling of interbeing, belonging, and love.
This loss of soul in our culture profoundly impacts our capacity to live with deep meaning, feeling, creativity, and love. Our healing is intricately interwoven with the awakening and remembering how deeply loved we are within this web of Earth and Cosmos.
Anne Baring’s work goes into wild depths on this subject. If you are stirred to learn more, here is her website:
Grief Tending
Do you have more tears than you feel you can handle at times? Are your eyes a river of sorrow? Or do you feel a deep sorrow that’s hard to touch? Is your belly in ache for the grief cry of the loss of love, heart, connection, beauty, and soul in these times?
Years ago, I was introduced to the work of Francis Weller after participating in a grief ceremony with the Animas Valley Institute.
Francis is an elder of our times and has charted the wells of grief as a man of strength and courage. He has much to teach the rest of us about letting our wild grief pour through our bodies as an activism for a more beautiful world.
You may enjoy reading his book The Wild Edge of Sorrow if you want the words of a true elder alongside your grief story.

The Way It Is by William Stafford
There’s a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn’t change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can’t get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time’s unfolding.
You don’t ever let go of the thread.
May you find and hold onto the thread that is yours to carry.
With love,
Tara
I currently have openings in my clinical practice. I work with people who want more love, aliveness, creativity, and relational intimacy with themselves and others.
